Editorial: Local Olympians readying for chance of a lifetime

It’s impressive to have two East Pierce County athletes and a dozen Sumner High School musicians heading to the 2008 Olympics in China. That says a lot about the talent and dedication of residents in our little area of the state.

We wish Melanie Roach, who will be competing in the weightlifting competition, and swimmer Megan Jendrick the best of luck in their quest to bring home the gold. And we can’t forget the dozen teens who will be partaking in the band festivities at the Olympics.
